Length of Pistol Grip Rubber Butt Plate Stock on 1893

Post by thomasrodco »

Would someone be able to measure the length of their 1893 pistol grip butt stock with the flat Rubber buttplate please?
Mine looks like it might be short, and I'm trying to verify if it is or not?
Mine measures about 8 3/4" from the end of the top tang to the end of the wood at the butt plate on the top of the stock.
That was about the straightest line I could find to get a measurement that would be easily compared. The bottom of my stock is broke off, and I want to have a duplicate made.
From where the side of the receiver meets the wood to the end at the butt plate is about 12 3/4"
thank you

If it helps, the length from the front of the trigger, to the end of the wood on the stock is 13 3/16", and 13 1/2" to the end of the butt plate.

That's pretty darn close to what I get on any 1893 Marlin. Sounds like it's still full length.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!

Sounds good. I was guessing it was uncut, but just wanted to make sure I wasn't way off base.
thanks!
