Hi, I recently picked up an 1893 in 32-40. Serial # 107xXX, matching numbers. Gun has a 22" octagon barrel. Would like to know if it shipped that way from the factory or if it was cut down at some point. Muzzle is square, not crowned and center of front sight dovetail is 7/8" from muzzle. Gun has no finish left but is in pretty nice shape with strong rifling. Should be a nice shooter. If I can figure out posting photos I'll add some. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

The old factory records show that your Marlin Model 1893 left the factory in New Haven, Ct. in mid-1894. It was a .32-40 caliber gun with a 28 inch octagon barrel.
