Howdy,
Just received my Grandfathers lever, handed down from my Uncle.
Its my first Marlin. I have quite a few Remingtons, Rugers, and Winchesters.
Just looking for some information on it.
It has an "L" 2XX serial.
Gun is in very good condition and looks to be original except for a rear peep sight.
Receiver is not "blued" looks "color hardened". Barrel is round and "blued"
.32 special.

With the "L" serial number prefix, this will be a very late Model '93. There are no records for these late guns, but an estimate for production of the "L" serial numbered guns would be sometime around the 1933 to 1935 era.
It sounds like a typical gun of this era. This is about the best we offer at this time in the way of information.

The '30s would line up with my Grandfathers timeline.
I'm assuming the Peep Sights were added by him after the gun was purchased.
