Marlin 39 TDS

Post by jagger99 »

Hey guys, I have a Marlin 39 TDS Serial number TDS2837 Lever action rifle.

The rifle was in my wife's grandmother's collection. They are attempting to sell these weapons to go towards her estate.

It seems the price on these are all over the board. The local gun / pawn shop gave me a value of $350 - $500. Can you tell me if this sounds right?

Thanks in advance!

Jagger;

Actually, the price for the Marlin 39TDS is a little higher. Most are listed between $800.00 and $1,000.00, depending if it is complete with the carrying case that originally came with the gun.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

No case, just the rifle, was told it was a "youth rifle?

Appears pretty short. Really neat gun though.

Jagger;

With it's 16 1/4 inch barrel, the 39TDS was not known for it's accuracy, just for being short and handy in close quarters. The 39TDS was not considered a "youth" gun as it has a standard length buttstock. Marlin did make youth guns with shorter buttstocks to accommodate smaller people.
