I just recently added another Marlin Lever rifle to Brian's Home for Wayward Marlins. This one is a very nice condition Model 1881 with pistol grip checked stocks with double set triggers. The 28" octagon .40 caliber barrel has an almost mint bore. This gun was shipped out July 13th 1887. This rifle has been in the same family since it was purchased new in Missouri in the late 1880s. The rifle was used in Missouri until the family moved to Oregon and then to California. After being used there it was packed up again and moved with the family to Colorado. Earlier this year the family sold it to a family friend who took it to Arizona where I was able to procure it. I have to thank the Henzie family for looking after this rifle for the past 132 years.

Brian;
Neat to find items with that much history intact. It is not often that a gun can be traced back to original purchase.
By the way, nice gun!

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
