Info - Saddle Ring 1893

Post by MrBelvedere »

I’m doing research on a gun that I recently acquired..and from the start, pardon my lack of knowledge on this firearm. I’m a shotgun collector, however this gun caught my eye and I had to get it!

The rifle is a Model 1893 carbine and the seriel number reads: C3212. It does have a saddle ring and the words Special Smokeless Steel in larger letters in front of the adj. sight. It’s also engraved - Marlin Firearms Co. New Haven, CT. I’ve been told that there is a difference in guns stamped Marlin Firearms Co. v. Marlin Firearms Company. The gun is an easy 90%’er and any information regarding when the gun was manufactured as well as appx. value would be greatly appreciated.

MrBelvedere;

Where is the"C" serial number located? Is it up near the forearm or under the lever?
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.

It's also not been re-finished and the action is very tight. I do not think that the gun was fired much at all.
