1893 Stuck Firing Pin

Post by DesertDave »

Hi there, rescuing an 1893 with a 1xxxxx SN that was built in 1894, in .38 55. It was my brother's gun that was acquired around 1960 and spent many years in the swam cooled home of my mother. I rescued it years ago and am now in the process of bringing the old girl back to life. I am working on disassembly and cleaning, which has been a slow go having to soak the gun in WD40 to get the action and screws unfrozen. There is an incredible amount of crud built up in the action, but I'm taking my time and slowly getting her broken down. I finally got the bolt out and the firing pin is stuck in the fire position. I have been soaking it and gently tapping with a plastic mallet (a tiny one) but so far no go. Any ideas on resolving this firing pin issue would be greatly appreciated.
