Marlin 1893 Take Down 32-40 Build Date

Post by Amp357 »

Hi All:

I have a 1893 Marlin 32-40 take down and would like to know approximately when it was built. 1/2 Octagon & 1/2 Round Barrel, Serial # 3888??

I have pictures but I don't know how to post them.

Thank you,

Joe

Joe;

The factory records end at 355,500 in December of 1906. Your rifle, with a serial number in the 3888,000 range probably would have been shipped around mid-1908 or early 1909.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.
