Marlin336 rc

Post by Trem »

A while back I bought a Marlin336 rc straight stock in 35 Remington. Is this one of the more rare Malin lever actions because I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before I saw this one. The serial number on this one is U15xxx which I believe is 1961. Any information would be appreciated.

Trem;

The straight grip stock carbine is called the Model 336 Texan (336T). The first ones were made in 1954 and was made to 1984 when it became the Model 336 TS with the addition of the cross bolt safety. The .35 Remington caliber cartridge was dropped in 1965.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Thanks for the info. Are these guns worth any more than the other Marlin lever actions such as the 336c?

Might be worth slightly more to someone looking for that particular model, or wanting a straight grip Marlin. But not a significant amount.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
