336W

Post by Sanpete »

Why is the Marlin 336W such a pile of junk? The one I bought new about 9 months ago with a scope is nothing but junk. The scope was no good, the scope mounts were trash they were not tight. The scope was taken off. Then I look at the iron sights and they are on a angle. Now I called Marlin and talked to them and they said to send it back. Very good. But I need that rifle every day for cridders after my lifestock. What to do? All the other 336's are very good rifles. Just wondering why.

Sanpete;

As I remember, the Model 336W was made for K-Mart along the lines of the old Marlin-Glenfield version of the Model 336, in that the stock was a walnut stained Birch wood, there was less time spent polishing and finishing, etc. so that it was a "less expensive" gun to sell. But, all in all, it is still a Model 336 and with a little TLC, it can be brought up to snuff.
Send it back and borrow a protection gun from a friend if necessary.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
