Lever action 30 30
My father gave me a Marlin 30 30 lever action for my birthday. I'm try to figure out the manufacturer's date and what model it is. First 2 numbers are 08. Which I think makes it a manufacture date of 92. The barrel has 30AW stamped into it. I would like to put a scope on it for deer season. So I need to know the actual model to get the correct setup. Thanks in advance.

You are correct in that your Marlin Model 30AW was made in 1992. The AW is a less expensive version of the Marlin Model 336, and any scope mount made for the Model 336 will work on your 30AW.
