What year was my 336 made?

Post by jb1316 »

I purchased an older 336 a couple of years ago and wondering if someone can tell me the manufacturer date? Serial Number is h55649
Any other details about which variation of 336 this is would be great as well. thanks!

JB1316;

The "H" letter prefix indicates that your Marlin Model 336 was made in 1951.
If your Model 336 has a 24 inch barrel, it is a 336-A.
If your Model 336 is a 336-A with checkered stocks, it is a 336-A DL.
If your Model 336 has a 20 inch barrel and a full magazine with carbine bands around the barrel, it is a 336-C or RC.
If your Model 336 has a 20 inch barrel and a 2/3's magazine, with a rifle style forearm cap, it is a 336 SC.
There were a few Model 336 SC made that had checkered stocks, and they are SD's.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.
