Have a 1906 model 97. It's in good shape.

The bluing is gone. Looks like old nickel. ??? Thinking about restoring it. No rust. Bore is great. Will it hurt the value?

Bluing is gone? Is it blued or is it nickeled? Without a picture, it's tough to advise what should be done.

Wasn't sure if they used nickel on them. I'll see if I can figure out how to post a picture.

Went to visit some old timers at my local gunshop today. Found out today was their last day, and they're closing the doors. Gonna miss them. There are 3 older gentlemen who ran the shop for as long as I can remember. Between the 3 of them they have more knowledge than anyone else I've ever met. They confirmed that it was blued, and just has faded to nill in its 111 year existence. Also told me where I can find parts to bring it and my 39 back to life. As far as re-bluing it. Was told I should leave it be.
