Re: Auction
Brian;
I saw that auction. A number of the guns were listed as refinished, and in the case of the Bicycle Rifle, it was not only "restored", it was cut down from a 24 inch barrel. The two Model 1881's were also cut downs. I hope no one gets stung on any of the bad guns. There were some good guns there, so, "Let the Buyer Beware!"

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Re: Auction
Hammer price on the bicycle rifle was $3000.00. OUCH.

Re: Auction
Brian;
Still pretty high for what it was, but if it were a real "restored" Bicycle Rifle, I think it would have brought more. Just hope the person that bought it knows it is not a real Bicycle Rifle.
Do you know what the real nice Model 1888 ( round barrel .44-40 ) brought?

Re: Auction
Rich, that round barrel 1888 went for $2500. I looked at the pictures and think it was worth twice that.

Thank you for looking that up for me. It was an exceptional Model 1888. I agree with you on the price, maybe it should have brought a little more than that even.......
