Mom's Marlin Model 39A 22 SL LR
I would appreciate information as to the manufacture date for this take down rifle. There is a C under the lever. Built in New Haven, Conn.

With a "C" letter prefix to the serial number, your mother's Marlin Model 39-A would have been made in 1946.
