1894 serial number

Post by Bradsgnt »

I have a 1894 octagon barrel rifle, chambered in 38 Winchester. Its serial number is D86XX. I would like to know the age of this rifle.

Bradsgnt;

Is that "D" prefix serial number up near the forearm, or is back, under the lever?
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

It is on the underside of the receiver near the forearm.

With a "D" prefix serial number, up near the forearm, this Marlin Model '94 would have been made in the 1919/1920 time frame.

I just purchased a Marlin 1894c lever action
In 38/357 magnum caliber.. The serial # is
94019261. I was wondering what the manufacture date is and if it is a remain or
Marlin. What would the going price be for it?
