I acquired an old model 1893 Marlin with some very unusual features. I'm trying to figure out what it's worth. Here goes: first it is in 32-40. It has a magazine tube that ends at the front end of the forearm. The barrel is 32 inches long. condition is fine to excellent. What have I got????

Sounds like a very special 1893! A 32" barrel is very unusual, but add the "button" magazine and it's a very rare variation. When you say it "ends at the forearm", do you mean even with the forearm cap, or does it extend past at all? Button mags end even with the forearm, and are very rare in any Marlin, but much more so in a 32" barrel. I'd love to see pictures!

The button extends about 1/8 of an inch past the end of the forearm wood. I'm 78 and not very computer savvy. If you email me at levineknives@msn.com I will be able to send a pic or three back to you ,but I haven't a clue how to post a pic on this sir\te
