Model 1936

Post by captstan »

New member here, just acquired a model 1936 30.30, s/n 8518, no prefix letter, 24 inch round barrel, looks original to me but minus a hood for the front sight and missing one of the plug screws on the upper tang. Any help on when this gun was built and where I might find the missing parts?

Brophy refers to two version of the 1936. One with the long tang and the flat main spring. The second with the short tang and the coil main spring. The second was designed by a 'B' prefix in the serial number. Which main spring do you have?
