I am new to the sight and have be thinking about starting a collection of the Texan style lever action rifles, how many styles of Marlins are classified "Texan"?

Lefty1;

Marlin made 2 different models with the word "Texan" in the name. There was the Model 336 Texan, and the Model 1897 Texan. Now, there are a number of different models that will have a similar appearance as these Texans, but are not called Texan. For instance, there is the Zane Grey Century, a gun with an octagon barrel, the Model 336 Octagon, and several different Model 39-A's and Mounties made with octagon barrels, such as the Century Limited, The Article II (NRA Commemoratives) and others. Then there are all the Cowboy versions Marlin made over the years. Marlin made a 336 Cowboy and a number of different Model 1894's in Cowboy configurations.
So, the field is wide open, you just need to decide which ones you want and go out and find them. Gun Broker is full of them as well as other internet sites.
Good luck........
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.
