Justaguy;

Condition is EVERYTHING. Some 39-A Golden rifles can be worth more than others depending upon the variation. A 39-A DL made in the early 1960's can be worth 3 to 4 times as much as one made in the 1980's.
Do you know the serial number of the rifle in question? There may be a letter(s) prefix to the serial number, and that determines when it was made. Otherwise, the first two digits of the serial number determine when it was made.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Justaguy;

Values for a 1980 39-A can range from $350.00 to $800.00, depending upon the overall condition of the remaining original factory finish on the wood and metal. If you look at Guns International, you will see a number of guns within the ranges given. You will have to determine the condition of the piece in question and compare it to those listed. You also have to take into consideration that the higher priced guns do not always sell very quickly as there is always a better bargain around the corner waiting to be picked up.
Good luck.........
