I have a 336 30-30. Has strange short reciever...

Its a 1964 .30-.30 micro groove barrel.

I have been looking at many Marlins (though, admittingly, none were as old as this one), and it seems to have a ackwardly short reciever in relation to the rest that Ive seen. I took a couple pics of the gun. If anyone could offer me some information regarding this gun, I would greatly appreciate it.

It looks fine to me. Maybe the short magazine tube is affecting your perception of the overall appearance. At first, I was going to call it a 336 Sporting Carbine, but the front sight puts me in mind of a Glenfield model 30 which is also consistent with the plain trigger. SW
I am really not an expert - distinguished or otherwise!!

Danny:

I agree with Steve. This looks exactly like a Glenfield Model 30. I think you probably were referring to the magazine tube being short, not the receiver.
