M-62 Levermatic

Post by hoosier »

First post here. Just looking for some info. Aquirted a couple of M-62 levermatic magazines but not sure what caliber they are, 30 Carbine or 256 Magnum. Follower has M (magnum?) on top. No other markings.

I have one in 30 carbine it has an M on the top, I don't know if the 256 does as well or if they might even be interchangable. The opening on mine measures 1 3/4" across. The 30 carbine is 1.59 OAL where as the 256 is 1.68 OAL both may fit. The width at the base is larger on the 30 Carbine than it is on the 256 and the shell length is about the same. If anyone has a 256 does your clip have an M on top?

I just checked my 256 magazine, and it is not marked in any way. My model 62 is one of the short run that was not serially numbered. SW
