I have sn 115607 in caliber .38 WCF. I have read that some of these were made with interchangable barrel assemblies in caliber .44 WCF. Is there truth to what I read? If so, who might have one of these assemblies that could be fit to my rifle?

Please understand that the only barrels that are interchangable on the Model 1894 are the .38-40 and the .44-40. The barrels of the .25-20 and the .32-20 are interchangable between themselves. You cannot interchange a barrel in .38-40 or .44-40 between a .25-20 or a .32-20 barrel. The cartridge heads are different sizes and the breech bolt will not accept both sizes and work properly. I hope this is clear enough. You can only have 2 different caliber barrels for the Model 1894, not 4 different caliber barrels.
