The Model '93 was made sometime between 1921 and 1935. There are no factory records for this period of time, but there are limited ways to narrow down the time frame as to when your gun was made.
The Model 336 CS was made in 1990. The CS indicates your gun is a carbine style with the cross bolt safety.

The 393 could very well be correct for your Model 93. In my opinion for what its worth I believe you have an early Model 93. Again just my opinion but I believe the Model 93's were made between 1922 and 1935. Possibly late 1921.

You are correct on the Model 1893. Sometime around 1912 give or take a couple of years Marlin started a new serial number system beginning with the letter A then B, C and D. I have seen none higher than say 9999 with the letter prefix. Parley
