Need info on Marlin 1889 barrel length
I'm looking at a Marlin 1889 32-20 that has a 20" octagon barrel and half magazine tube serial 35486 so it was made in 1890. I believe this rifle has been cut down but the owner believes it to be original. Is there anyway to find out the barrel length that it came from the factory. Thanks

TAN4Y;
You can tell the owner he is wrong, it has been cut down. This Model 1889 had a 24 inch octagon barrel in .44-40 caliber and shipped in 1890.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
