Trying to Identify Marlin 1893 32-40

I have a Marlin 32-40 with serial# A8008, yet it is unlisted in any Marlin serial number search.
I have read that an "A" prefix serial number give it approx. a 1916 manufacture date. But not sure.
Any references or guidance would be appreciated.
Also any links on how to disassemble for cleaning.

A Marlin Model 1893 with the "A" prefix serial number, and that serial number located up near the forearm would have been made in about 1916. A higher number like the one you have would be by the Marlin-Rockwell Corporation.
After 1921, the new Marlin Firearms Corporation changed the model marking to Mod. '93 and moved the serial number back, under the lever.
The easiest way to clean your rifle is to cock the hammer, then open the action slightly, then remove the lever screw and then pull the lever out and then pull the breech bolt out of the receiver.
You can clean the barrel from the breech end as recommended. If you wish to disassemble further, you have to remove the butt stock, and drop the trigger plate assembly.

And keep an eye on the ejector when you remove the breech block! It's just trapped in place by the breech block, so it falls out once the block is removed!
