Marlin 20-S firing pin question
Picked up a 20-S which wouldn't fire. Opened action, pressed in on firing pin and saw no protrusion. Installed new firing pin which looked exactly the same as old one. No "bang." Removed bolt and firing pin can be pushed past flush with rear of bolt and into recess for cartridge. Hammer hit is strong. Any clues?
Re: Marlin 20-S firing pin question
How strong is the firing pin dent in the back of the casing? Is it placed on the near edge? If the dent is not very deep, then you have a problem with the length and fitting of the pin, or, it is blocked from protruding when struck by the hammer.
