Model 100

Post by KPE »

I have a Model 100 22 rimfire. This was actually my first firearm given to me by my parents over 50 years ago. My question is where can I find more info , such as manufacture date, etc? By the way it still shoots great, a real tack driver.

KPE;

The Model 100 was made from 1935 to 1959, with time out for WW II and a short time between 1951 and 1953. Since the Model 100 was not a serialized product, the only way to determine an approximate date of manufacture is by certain changes made during the production era.
Early Model 100's had a steel trigger guard and a birch wood stock, the trigger guard was changed to plastic in 1947 and was listed with a walnut stock. In 1954, the Model 100 was produced with the new, patented Micro-Groove rifling.
There was a Model 100S made in 1937 and was known as the "Tom Mix Special" that had target sights, drilled for scope mounts and sling swivels with sling.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
