1892 22 lever action

Post by marlyn »

I would like to get an approximate value for my model 1892 22 cal lever action Sn 74900.
I want to insure it before I send it to my Daughter. It is in very good condition, and operates perfectly.
I am not sure if I am doing this properly, I am new to the forum.
Thanks in advance,
DJ

DJ;

With a 74900 serial number, this will not be a Model 1892. That number is too low for the Model 1892, and this should be a second variation of the Model 1891. According to the records, 74900 is a .22 calibre Model 1891 with a 24 inch round barrel, shipped in 1892.
The round barrel will detract from the value a little compared to a octagon barrel.
Condition of the original factory finish on the wood and metal dictates the value of any antique firearm. Without knowing these conditions it is not possible to give an accurate estimation of value. A range of values for a round barrel Model 1891 in "very good condition" would be from $750.00 to $1,850.00, depending upon the overall condition.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.
