WHEN WAS IT MANUFACTURED AND WHAT IS IT WORTH?

Post by GATEWAY GUIDE » Mon Aug 20, 2018 3:53 am

HELLO EVERYONE,HE
I HAVE A MARLIN 39A 22 CAL RIFLE GIVEN TO ME WHEN I WAS IN MY EARLY TEENS BY MY UNCLE. IT IS A 39A 22 CAL. LEVER ACTION. A BEAUTIFUL GUN THAT SAT BY HIS FIREPLACE FOR MANY MANY YEARS. HE NEVER SHOT IT. I HAVE SHOT IT PROBIBLY THREE OR FOUR TIMES RUNNING ABOUT 200 ROUNDS THROUGH IT.
THE SERIAL NUMBER IS ON THE TOP OF THE BACK BEHIND THE TRIGGER ON THE METAL THAT FITS TO THE STOCK. THE NUMBER HAS A LETTER L AND FOUR DIGITS 1979, SO THE SERIAL IS L1979. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN THIS RIFLE WAS MANUFACTURED AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE RIFLE IS WORTH. THE GUN IS BEAUTIFUL. I HAD A GUNSMITH TAKE IT AND CLEAN IT THOROUGHLY.CAN ANYONE ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THAT I HAVE ABOUT THE RIFLE?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH GUYS. JOHN

Should be 1954. Can't give a value without pictures.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
