I have an older model 49 .22. It’s serial number is 6692656XX. This number is limits exactly the same as the one on a search from 2010 that I found online but only part of the thread was available.
I don’t think this is a typical number. Any info would be helpful!

Pepper105;
The serial number is proper, and probably from a series of numbers I do not have access to. The Model 49 was made from 1968 to 1978 with a total of 110,422 produced. This includes both the Model 49 and 49DL.
The serial numbers I do not have access to are from 1968, 1969 and 1970. The method used after those years indicate that the number on your gun would fall into one of those three years. More than likely, either 1968 or 1969.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
