I have a model 80 made with no safety. Any info on this is welcome.

The Model 80 safety changed in 1937. So, between 1935 and 1937, the safety was there, "per se" according to Brophy. The early bolt action guns were not self cocking and the cocking knob had to be pulled back manually to be able to fire the gun. So, as long as the bolt was not cocked, it was in a safe position.

The Glenfield Model 60 was made from 1966 to 1982. Marlin stopped using the Glenfield moniker in 1983. Your Model 60 was made in 1977.
