Marlin Model 38

Post by Wallyberger35 » Sat Nov 18, 2017 9:14 am

I purchased an old Marlin Model 38 yesterday and after six hours of taking it all apart, cleaning everything and waxing the wood parts it looks really good.

My question is that it has a stamp over serial number on it. Original # 200- and now an L was stamped over the 2. Does this have any significence?

I thought this model was a take down but this one is not. The wood stock is one of the most beautiful pieces of walnut I have ever seen.

Any one have any ideas?
