Model 39A magazine tube

Post by Bagpipes »

Just registered to day and I also picked up Marlin 39A with an "H" starting the serial number, and I have a problem. When I tried to remove the magazine tube, it did not easily come out: from rotating the cap to pulling the tube out, this little puppy fought every inch of the way. I should also add that the magazine seemed slightly askew. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks,
Robert

Robert;

Is the inner tube straight? If the inner tube is bent, it would be difficult to remove it. If not, then straighten the outer tube so that is it is not askew. You might have to remove the forearm to see if there is a dent or some other problem with the outer tube that is hidden by the forearm. Make sure that the area of the locking notches is not crimped to squeeze down on the inner tube as well. The inner tube should not be that hard to pull out. If you find no problems, you may want to purchase another inner tube to see if that corrects the problem.
Good luck......
