Marlin A1 Cycle Problem

Got this rifle as a gift from my son. I have put all new parts for the extractor as per instruction from this forum. My problem is it will cycle 3 or 4 rounds then the next round won't feed correctly. It did the same thing without an extractor in the bolt. I have one original magazine and another new magazine that I modified according to info from this forum. Neither will feed properly. Any idea where my problem may be?
