Model 57 22 Magnum

Ok this is confusing me. Barrel is clearly marked Marling Model 57 and below it labeled 22 Magnum. There is no JM stamped any where on the barrel or any other stamps on the barrel or receiver accept for a couple pins are stamped with a M. other than Mirco Groove which is on the left side below the rear sight. On the front edge of the lever there is a S. Every picture I've seen so far and every old ad I've seen says the 22 Magnum is a model 57-M but this one isn't marked with the M.
