56 or 57 convert to compression spring
The Achilles heel of the 56's and 57's has always been their weak hammer springs and misfires. In looking at the action I think a block could be installed above the lever lock with a hole in it for a spring plunger and a compression spring fitted to a small notch in the back of the hammer. Has anyone tried this or something similar or seen one so modified ??
