Anyone have any suggestions of unusual locations for the serial number on a full length magazine version of a Model 20a.
It has all the other indicated etchings but dog gone I can't see anything that ever might have been a serial number.
Thanks in advance
Adam

Adam;
Two places to look, and both involve a screwdriver. One is to remove the buttstock and look at the side of the receiver tang. The other is to remove the butt plate if your gun has a metal butt plate. Steel butt plates also received the serial number of the gun when it was made. The butt plate was installed on the wood as it received the final shaping and sanding, so it was shaped to the exact butt stock that was numbered to the gun and the butt plate numbered to the butt stock.
I hope this helps.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Re: Model 20a Serial Number?
Hey Thanks for the suggestions. I found it under the buttplate.
Now I have to find somewhere that may have or be able to mill a new extractor. Everything works smoothly in the action except the worn out extractor. The guy at wiseners was nice but not at all helpful. They show having firing pins availabel but thats all.
Any Direction would be helpful.

Does anyone know where to find a schematic for the Marlin 20A?
