First year Marlin model 39 value

Post by Shop Padawan »

Hello all,

I have a Marlin model 39 that I've been trying to sell. The serial number is 1308, which is on the front most part of the receiver. From what I understand, Marlin started making these at serial number 1001, which would mean that my rifle is the 307th model 39 to leave the factory. Kinda neat, eh? Here are some pictures.......

Anyway, from these pictures, what can you guys tell me for value? I dont know if you can tell, but the toe of the butt plate has a small chunk missing. Also the bore is alittle rough, but she still can hit a 10" plate at 200 yards, not to brag.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.
