-Marlin Firearms Co--Model 31-

Here is the same rifle that a visiter stated he had. No, it is not a dream. I have it in my hands and can read quite well. The problem I have is that I cannot get the bolt out to clean. I follow the general procedures and it does not want to let it out. It is an excellent rifle. Please help. AC

I would guess a light barrel stamp or a worn die, leading to a marked 31, which should be an 81. I think the trigger has to be pulled as the bolt is withdrawn on this model? Good luck
