Marlin Model 12R sight: Long base/Short base

Here are some photos of the Marlin Model 12R Receiver Sight in both of it's versions. (http://www.pbase.com/tigweld/marlin_12r_sight) The (long base) for Marlin Model 80,81 etc. bolt actions.
The (short base) was used on the Marlin Model 50 and Marlin Model A1 etc. The photo of the the short base
version shows it mounted on the Model 50.
