Glenfield Model 25 striker drops when bolt is closed.

Post by pabloshooter »

My Marlin Glenfield Model 25 fails to remain cocked when I close the bolt. Operation seems normal when pulling the bolt back, as well as pushing the bolt forward. When the bolt is push down though, the striker drops. The striker drops bit by bit as the bolt is closed. By the time the bolt is in its locked home position, the striker is almost fully down. At this point the striker only has a millimeter of travel left when the trigger is pulled. Other than normal wear, I have not noticed any damage to the sear. I believe that the sear engages the striker cam bushing? No abnormal wear to the bushing either. This rifle was my great uncles and is of the utmost importance to me. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. Stay safe and keep shootin!
