Marlin Model 81 DL New Style Extractor

Post by NVTRANSPLANT »

Hi I'm new here and hope that I can get an answer to my questions.

I have a Model 81 DL and it has one worn extractor. I already purchased one from Numrich Gun Parts but I saw they sell the "NEW Style" extractor also. Looks like it just clips onto the bolt. Will that piece fit on all bolts or do I need a certain one? Thanks and I hope you understood my question.

I have a Marlin Model 81DL that my Dad gave to me in 1952 for my eleventh birthday. Even though it was a large rifle for an eleven year old, I loved the rifle and through the years I have shot it untold thousands of times. It is still a great shooter! It developed an extractor problem and thirty years ago and I sent it to Marlin for one of their special offer "tune ups". They replaced the extractor and the bolt. The thing I like about this rifle is that it shoots shorts, longs, and long rifles interchangeable. Today I shoot mostly shorts. It still looks new, at least 90%, and it is one of my all time favorite guns. Its value is mostly nostalgic but it will eventually go to one of my grandsons.
