hello, Local shop has a mid 20's model 39

They have the pictured marlin 39 in about 65% all original $800 no wiggle room at all

So what do you guys think? is it worth the $800? Is the stock factory checkering, or a good/poor fake?
serial # s30xx seems the buttplate is not original and the ivory front bead is MIA

I am no expert but the checkering does not look factory to me. With issues with the checkering, front sight, and buttplate, $800.00 seems to high.
