MODEL 444 100 YEAR COMMEMORATIVE
I HAVE A 1970 MODEL 444 WITH A GOLD MEDALLION IN THE STOCK, I WAS TOLD IT WAS A 100 YEAR COMMEMORATIVE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN FIRED, I CAN'T FIND ANY INFORMATION ON THIS GUN, NOTHING IN THE BLUEBOOK ON IT, SO DID THEY MAKE ONE,HOW MANEY AND WHAT WOULD IT BE WORTH?

The Marlin Model 444 was introduced in 1965. So yes, they did make the Model 444 in 1970 and it sold for $135.00 that year. When introduced, the Model 444 had a 24 inch barrel, and in 1971, it was reduced to 22 inches, so your gun should be one of the last ones with a 24 inch barrel. Some collectors like that fact. All Marlin guns made in 1970 had the 100th Annivesary medallion in the stock. There is no production data available for the Model 444 guns that I know of. Value of your gun should be about the same as any other pre-1971 Model 444 in like condition.
