New guy here,
Mike Britton from Texas. Like to play with/collect 336's, lots of different antique guns.
Retired from Deere after 30 years, livin' the dream......

Mike;

The Model 336 has many interesting variations for the collector. Some are quite rare and not often seen for sale.
Now that you are retired, you have the time to travel to gun shows and seek the items of your desire.
Welcome.......

I do a lot of shows, and do run across some interesting stuff. I stumbled on a Revelation .30-30 a couple weekends ago, but the seller wanted twice what the gun was worth. Oh well.....there is always another show!

Mike;

Yeah, the private brand guns do not command the price the "real" Marlins do. Marlin did make a number of commemoratives that are somewhat hard to find, and are gaining in value.
The Marlin Firearms Collectors Association has some information regarding the manufacture, packing and shipping dates of some of these guns.
