39a troubleshooting

Post by muskrat man »

bought a decent 1952 vintage 39a at a gun show today, took it apart to clean it and it looks like someone has been inside of it, shot it a bit and it is throwing the shells high over the chamber and when it doesn't jam outright it shaves the top side of the bullet. Any thing come to mind which might be the problem? any help would be appreciated.
