marlin 1889 (and probably other marlin levers)

Post by toolite »

Does anyone know the angle between the front of the receiver and the rear where the buttstock meets the flats?
I came up with 20 degrees doing a rough measure (my comparator stage is too small to see both ends). I need to be exact, the drawings in Brophy's book doesn't reveal it. Building a fixture to be able to surface grind the front and rear radius on the sides of the receiver flats without a lot of wonkie setups. Got several receivers to do.
Thanks
