Pump action 12 gauge exposed hammer?

Post by chubb44850@aol.com »

Good Evening, Thank you for allowing me to join your forum. I have Marlin 12 gauge pump action with an exposed hammer. The housing # is 31498 and the barrel # 32105F. I was trying to get some iformation about the shotgun. When was it manufactured? What is its approximate value? Any Ideas? Carter

Carter;

You have a standard grade or "A" Grade Marlin Model 1898, 12 gauge exposed hammer, pump action shotgun. It left the factory with the barrel you mentioned in early 1902. The barrel is a full choke and was 30 inches in length.
Value of any antique firearm is dictated by the amount and condition of the remaining original factory finish on the wood and metal. Without knowing these conditions, no one can give an accurate estimation of value at this time.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
