Model 39

Post by Skeeter51 »

Recently gifted a model 39 22 that was my grandfather's, I remember him having it over 50 years ago. It has a serial number of 59856. Any idea date of manufacture and where?

Skeeter51;

Model 39's do not have serial numbers that high. Are you sure that the "5" you show is not the letter "S"?
Marlin started using the letter "S" in the serial number in 1925 and up to 1932. After that, Marlin used the "HS" prefix to the serial number.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.
